Does it update automatically?

Yes. One gift sets off five things, and you are not any of the first four. Here is the whole chain, in order, from the moment a card goes through.

What the client sees

Four steps, about six minutes. She never makes an account and never handles money — she is writing a page and choosing what she is hoping for.

Step one — who the registry is for

Name, email, due date. The email is the only address the system ever writes to her at.

Her name becomes the heading on the finished page, so it is worth getting the spelling right here.

An aunt opens a link from a group text. No account, no app, no shipping address. She reads the story, picks an amount, and is done in under a minute.

The passcode gate

Only appears on registries where the client chose the passcode option. One word, no account, and the browser remembers it.

The client sets this word herself in step four and shares it however she likes. You never hold it.

Apply credit to a bookingEmail Teresa

Credit does not expire. If the registry falls short, it still applies and the client pays the difference at booking.

Three things still need a person.

Booking the date

When the client writes in, you set the session like any other. The registry tells you what credit is on file; it doesn't touch your calendar.

Applying the credit

One button on the registry, or a line on your invoice if you'd rather. It's deliberately a decision, not an automatic discount.

Refunds and changes

Rare, but they happen. Because the money is in your own Stripe account, you handle them there exactly as you would a normal sale.
